What Does it Take to Be a Great Teacher?

I don’t know how to be a great teacher, but I do know how the teacher should act. One of my favorite teachers at St. Helena High is Mrs. Jackson. She has something that other teachers don’t. She has courage, confidence, teaching skills, a willingness to help others, she work hard and has control of her class.
Mrs. Jackson has courage. She doesn’t get afraid of the students. She has the courage to tell the students the truth. She also has confidence in her students. She teaches them right from wrong.
Another thing I like about Mrs. Jackson is that she has teaching skills, and she is very helpful. While she’s teaching the students what they need to know, she’s also helping them when they need it. She taught me the proper way to write, and the meaning of things I did not know.
The last two things I like about Mrs. Jackson are that she works hard and has control of things. She works hard by standing up in front of the class describing the subject she is teaching. She has control of the class. She just asks the students to behave themselves as she teaches and some listen, but other don’t. I guess some people don’t want to learn.
In my conclusion, I believe a teacher needs to have confidence in themselves, work hard, and have control of his/her class. That’s what I look for in my teachers, and the only one that I found it in is Mrs. Jackson. I am not saying that other teachers are not good, I’m saying that they need more or what Mrs. Jackson has.
